Seeing the work Homeless Veteran Needs Help God Bless at Miasma, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Helsinki, reminded me of a work I once proposed making for an Open - to buy from rough sleepers, and beggars, the signs they wrote and used appealing for money, and to show a collection of these (though unframed) on a gallery wall. The proposal was not accepted, and of course, it does not feel possible for me to make this work now.
